Professor of Harvard Zoology, Mr. Edward Laurens, founded Harvard writing style. This writing style is a lot simple and easy-to-implement. It involves the insertion into the text, the name of author, date or work title, within the parentheses. The Harvard style involves two major kinds of referencing namely: author-date along with author-title. There are some variation involves when multiple names of author are to be cited or the author’s name is already present in the text.

Moreover, it provides convenience in referencing. For an author, it eliminates the process of footnote insertion. Instead of including intricate footnotes or endnotes, the simple parentheses enfold, after each citation, the pieces of material required for proper citation.

Furthermore, in Harvard reference format the parenthetical referencing removes the confusion upon the pairing of citation footnotes, which contain additional factual along with anecdotal information related to the text.

Harvard style of writing adds accuracy in a document. The Parenthetical citations enable users and readers to cite more quickly. It double-check the accuracy as well and it strengthens a paper.
