I am trying to add multiple widgets (translate, search, bookmark) horizontally underneath my header and no one seems to know how to do this. Can someone help? I am using the 2 column minima blogger template. I have tried navigation bars at the top - they don't work for widgets. I now have a html/javascript gadget with 2 widgets there but the widgets end up showing vertically instead of horizontally. After doing some research I found the Blogger help article about page element tags for layouts. It says that the section layouts can have a 'growth' element which is to identify either horizontal or vertical but I didn't see an example to know exactly where it goes. I believe my answer lies somewhere within that but don't quite know how to do it. Can anyone help?

you can adapt the 3 column style below your header from this tutorial.
